a5c7b9f00b The second war against the Cylons is over, and The Twelve Colonies have been destroyed. Now Commander Adama of the Battlestar Galatica and President Laura Roslin lead a ragtag fleet of refugees in a supposed search for the fabled lost thirteenth colony, Earth. However, the dangers they face are many, which compound an already difficult situation. In addition to the Cylons hunting and attacking the fleet in space and their infiltrator units carrying out sabotage–eventheir former unwitting pawn, Gaius Baltar, helps in the hunt for them while hiding both his own guilt and the strange presence that haunts his every thought–the fleet also faces internal political conflict in which the rabble-rousing figure Tom Zarek is merely the loudest dissenting voice, not to mention recurring shortages of food, water, and even oxygen. In the midst of these trials, however, clues begin to appear to suggest that Adama's bluff about finding Earth might hold more truth than anyone could have guessed. When an old enemy, the Cylons, resurface and obliterate the 12 colonies, the crew of the aged Galactica protect a small civilian fleet - the last of humanity -they journey toward the fabled 13th colony, Earth. The new Battlestar Galactica Series is Really Great. The Storying Telling is Compelling & Draws you in to Experience the Episode. You can't help but feel like it is Real. The Acting by All is Really Great, Superb & again Draws you in with Emotion. You'd think it was Reality TV. The Look/Feel of the Program is Speechless. Hands Down from a Born & Bread Trekker, I am amazed & a Follower of this New BSG TV Series. I was born after The Original Star Trek & watched those Episodes in Re-runswellall of it New Encarnations, grew up on Space 1999, saw Star Wars & The Original BSG in Threater's & Watched the Original BSG Episodes. This New BSG has Definitely taken Science Fiction to a New Height in TV. Congratulations All Around Involved & Keep Up the Great Performance. I only wish I could participate in some small way. But I have not missed the New Release's of the DVD's. I watch them at my own leisure, especially since I don't have the Space Channel at home. Thank-You, New Avid Fan. …and I'm not exaggerating. I actually liked the first seasons A LOT: good sci-fi, with a good story, pretty decent CG, characters with a real personality and depth (maybe even too much for a sci-fi). You were actually eager to see what was going to happen next to those bereaved and continuously besieged people, and empathized with them. The only negative aspect I could really find there, was the sheer obnoxiousness of some of those characters, suchStarbuck, 'madam President' and Adama jr. 3 main characters, I know, but the overall value of the show was such that I would have nonetheless scored it a 8.5 or even 9 if it kept goingit started 'till the end. Sadly, episodes passed, the story reached a point where metaphysical/religious drivel actually superseded the sci-fi component (in an appalling way). The last episode of season 4 is just the epitome of this absurd (and catastrophic) transformation, and it actually left me wondering about what the (hell) writers/director were thinking when the decided to steer that way. OK, when you watch some horror/sci-fi and whatnot, you're supposed to 'go with the flow' and apply a generous amount of suspension of disbelief in order to accept what's going on and enjoy it, but what happens in the second half (something less) of this show goes well beyond that, and much of it just remains totally unexplained and makes no sense at all, whatever angle you decide to look at it from. So, from a merely numerical approach, if I scored the first part a 9, I'd say the other deserves a 3, so in the end you get a 6, but it's more like we're talking about two separate series… However, if you decide to watch this, you may do yourself a favor and stop watchingsoonyou start asking yourself why everyone has suddenly gone 'batshit' crazy, turning a good sci-fi series into a lame Z-grade BS* driven psychodrama. That way you'll most certainly enjoy the show and remember BSGa good sci-fi series (as it should have, and could easily have been).

*Maybe that's what BSG really stands for…

RIP
